PI: Amir A. Pahlavan. Amir joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Material Science at Yale as an Assistant Professor in July 2021. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, where he studied interfacial flows and instabilities in confined environments. He then joined Princeton University as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where he worked on a range of problems in the areas of transport and hydrodynamics. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and outdoors.
Haoyu Liu (柳皓宇). Haoyu joined the group as a PhD student in Fall, 2021. He has obtained his bachelor degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in China. Haoyu’s undergraduate thesis was in the area of optofluidic resonance in liquid jets. At Yale, he plans to do research in the area of interfacial flows and transport phenomena in porous media. In his spare time, Haoyu likes reading novels, drawing architecture, and traveling.
